Kalamain Have acted as a Hybrid Main Contractor and Turnkey Contractor, as although Kalamain Controlled all the designs there was appointment and significant interaction from the client. The client being an expert in their field had a lot of valuable design information to specify and contribute directly to the design team, hence that it was a hybrid role out of the traditional sense.

The design development has taken of 12 months to detail and get right with lots of time and resources spent on it, therefore giving the project all the success factors to deliver a world class facility.

The Dharwizi truck yard is a commercial development funded for and invested in by Dharwizi for the housing of there evergrowing fleet. The project will see a fullsize workshop capable of executing all service and repair works, as well as a fueling station and fully serviced washbay to allow cleaners 360 degree access to the vehicles.

The yard being significant in size will allow overflow parking should they need, however a full paved ring road and parking, with a 24m wide workshop to allow truck full capabilities to be worked on under cover.

The senior offices are on a composite first floor slab, giving a good vantage point over operations with stores and admin offices below on ground floor.

The project is due to take 18 months with quality being of paramount importance. The workshop floors are constructed out of 200mm reinforced concrete with an Abecron floor hardening compound giving the surface a 70mpa finish.
